Immanuel College students celebrate another stellar year of GCSE results

Today, students at Immanuel College are celebrating after receiving their GCSE and BTEC results.

The academy, located on Leeds Road in Idle, and part of Bradford Diocesan Academies Trust, is pleased to announce another year of excellent results achieved by its students following several years of perseverance and commitment to their studies.

Overall, students at the Academy achieved 330 top grades (grades 7, 8 or 9 and Distinction or Distinction*).

Subjects that saw particular success included: Art (BTEC and GCSE) and Computer Science with 100% of grades at 4+ and almost half of the students who sat Sport BTEC achieved a top grade.

The vast majority of students will now progress into the highly successful sixth form at Immanuel College, with its brand new provision currently being built, or are considering vocational routes such as apprenticeships.

While all students have done incredibly well, there are some standout individual achievements. These include:

  • Lucy Fletcher who achieved seven grade 9s and two grade 8s:

“I feel extremely relieved after opening by results and can now look forward to my future studies"

  • Ethan Oddy who achieved seven grade 9s and one grade 8:

“I’m just really relieved all my hard work paid off and I can continue into sixth form”

  • Tia Coleman who achieved a grade 9, five grade 8s and two grade 7s:

“I was very scared to open my results but I am happy and proud of what I got. My better results are what I want to do in sixth form so I am very excited!”

Steve Mulligan, Headteacher at Immanuel College said:
“Once again, Immanuel students have done themselves proud! Students have worked incredibly hard over the past few years and should be very pleased with the grades that they have achieved. We look forward to welcoming most of our students back in September when they join our Sixth Form and wish the very best for the future to those who are moving elsewhere.”
