Bradford District Modulo Orchestra
Last Monday sixty musicians from all over Bradford District united at Immanuel College to form Bradford District Modulo Orchestra working with Orchestras for All.
Orchestras for All are an Arts Council England National Youth Music Organisation and won Youth Initiative of the Year award at the Music Mark Awards 24. The Modulo programme brings school ensembles together regionally and nationally to rehearse and perform as large-scale orchestra, supported by a team of professional musicians from leading performing arts organisations at centres of musical excellence.
Students from Bradford Forster, Belle Vue Girls and Immanuel College worked with facilitators Steven Smith and Oscar Artacho to work on a specially arranged version of Stevie Wonder’s “I Wish” as a Symphony Orchestra based right here in Bradford!
“I found the orchestra experience really fun and a great overall experience for those who haven’t played in an orchestra before.” Maja M, Y10, Immanuel College.
“All of our students really enjoyed themselves and it has been a new experience for many of them - hopefully an inspiration for them to get involved with similar events in the future.” Miss Emery, Music Teacher, Bradford Forster Academy.
“We are so excited to work with Orchestras for All right here in Bradford. The Modulo programme encourages inclusive music making for all; what a brilliant symphonic experience!” Mrs Ross-Shaw Head of Music, Immanuel College & BDAT Lead Educator.
