EFL Cup Tournament

A challenging EFL Cup tournament recently for the girls, who played seven matches in total, securing one win, three draws, and narrowly losing three. The standard of competition was high, with fixtures against top schools from Middlesbrough, Hull and Rotherham.

Shout out to Lydia N, who led our scoring with three goals, and Lily R for adding another to the tally.

A superb effort from all the girls, who showed fantastic determination and perseverance throughout the tournament.

The Year 8 and Year 9 netball teams took on Coop Academy Grange in another league fixture this week, and came away with two fantastic wins!

The Year 8 team secured an impressive 10–0 victory, while the Year 9 team followed with a brilliant 6–2 win.

A special well done to Pola and Isali for scoring some fantastic goals in the Year 8 match, and to Betsy for her outstanding attacking play in the Year 9 game. An excellent team effort from all the girls, we’re so proud of you!

Cross Country Championships

The Immanuel cross country team enjoyed a fantastic day at the Bradford Schools Cross Country Championships, held at Northcliffe Park. All students represented the school brilliantly, showing great determination throughout the course. A standout performance came from Astrid in Year 10, who delivered an outstanding run to win her race and is now the Bradford Schools Champion for her age group!

Every runner performed superbly, and it was especially encouraging to see some new faces taking part. Well done to everyone involved for such a strong showing and for representing Immanuel so positively!

Y7 Boys Football

Well done to the 24 Year 7 football students who represented the school in a triangular fixture against Woodhouse Grove on Friday. There was some excellent football on display, and it was great to see so many students representing Immanuel College for the first time.

Y9 Boys Football

Immanuel were involved in an entertaining 2–2 draw with Hanson on Monday evening. After Hanson took an early lead, the boys showed great character to fight back and go 2–1 ahead, with goals from Harry D and a composed penalty from Harry J. Despite creating chances to put the game to bed, Immanuel were unable to capitalise, allowing Hanson to equalise in the second half. A spirited performance and a hard-fought point for the team.

The Year 9 Boys Football team returned to the top of the table in style with a 5–1 victory over Salts. Archie K marked his first game back after surgery with an incredible four-goal performance, while Harry W added the fifth to complete a superb team win.
