By Reuben A, Mais R, Jessie Z, Aidan S, Dominik P, Wonderful B
Out on the sports pitch, proceedings kicked off with a game of football. Kai F said, “The team aren’t doing well. They’re not linking well.” Mr Foster’s wise analysis proved true: the team did indeed lose the game. Dominik P spoke to Olly C, who said, “Larry scored Wilberforce’s winning goal, but they are struggling to keep the ball up.” He added, “…the green team are terrible, however.”
On the rounders pitch, Nightingale was winning. Spectating was Xavi H, who said, “It’s too hot. I’m going to die here.” Reporter Reuben A noted that players across the pitch were collapsing due to exhaustion (Added dramatic flare for entertainment purposes). Also spectating was Holly R, who told Reporter Wonderful B that, “I am so annoyed because my team are losing.” Anissa S said, “I feel like I’m going to melt.”
Reporter Jessie Z spoke to rounders player Brooke L, who said, “Never give up and never stop trying.”
On the tug-o-war field, Reporter Mais R spoke to Jay S, who said, “McMillan is doing the best. Follow my advice: Don’t get your arms stuck in the rope.”
Sixth-former Jensen S told our team of year 7 reporters, “Fortitudine vincimus: Latin for ‘With endurance, we will conquer.’”
He added, “‘Never back the early kick-off’, said Ghandi”—though our reporters suspect Ghandi probably did not say this.
Though our team of roving reporters were scheduled to visit the dance studio, they ended up stuck behind a locked gate in the hot sun for an entire five minutes with only one bottle of water each. At press time, they are recovering in 2H2 from their horrific ordeal after being heroically rescued by Mr Homer.
